They say self-love is the greatest love of all. Cute.
Then why does it feel like assembling furniture without instructions…while self-sabotage feels like second nature?
Self-love takes effort. Focus. Patience.
Self-sabotage? Effortless chaos…and PMDD just cranks up the difficulty level.
Drink the water instead of just buying the cute bottle. (Guilty.)
Journal instead of doom-scrolling until your eyeballs dry out. (Also guilty.)
And adding PMDD to the mix can these tiny wins feel like climbing Everest.
Self-love is uncomfortable. Vulnerable. Awkward.
Self-sabotage is a greased slide.
The worst part? How easy it is to fall into it. Sometimes it happens before you even notice…PMDD making it feel inevitable.
But here’s the magic: when you catch yourself. When you choose yourself…even a little…it feels like magic… like “Oh…so this is what it feels like to not be at war with myself.”
Self-sabotage is easy. Self-love is hard. PMDD makes it harder.
And that’s exactly why it’s worth it.
Admit it’s hard. Keep trying anyway. Laugh at the ridiculousness.
And remember to always celebrate the tiny victories along the way!
with love,
Caitlin
